SAT
Ashlyn's taking the SAT for the 3rd time this morning. She needs to score a 600 on the math and reading parts to get into A&M automatically and the last time she took it she got 600 and 590. So everyone think 600 (or 610 for good measure) for her today! She's been studying a lot this week so I'm praying it was enough to get her a few extra right answers. 👍 thanks everyone!!!

Prom
Ashlyn went to prom this weekend and had a great time. We started getting ready Friday night and got her nails done with her friend Jayde. Then Saturday morning we got her hair done and there was a girl doing air brush makeup there so we did that too. She looked so different! Then we hung out Saturday afternoon and got her ready, took some pictures and waited for her date (Go) to come pick her up. He arrived with his parents right after 6 and they stopped by his grandparents on their way to prom to pick up her corsage. John & I went to prom also as parent volunteers. They served a meal there and we helped distribute the plates and clean up after. I was very good and didn't take lots of pictures like I wanted to, we just helped where we could and then sat around until they didn't need us anymore. We left around 10:30 and she was home at midnight. I think she had a good experience, even though she was very uncomfortable being so dressed up and very nervous about it the whole week before.

And since I haven't put much up about Colten lately, here he is with his baritone after his band concert. He was in the back of the stage during the concert, so I couldn't get a good picture of him playing.

Colten too!
Missed it before, but Colten's in the paper this week too, for band. He's in the middle row all the way on the right side. He also had a band concert this week that his Omie's and Opie got to come watch. He plays the baritone and has really enjoyed it.
And as a added bonus, Ashlyn's date for the prom is in the paper this week too, for going to state in track... what a week!
....Unfortunately I couldn't find it online, but if you get the paper you'll see it :)

March, April, May...
Just a few highlights from the past few months:
Colten now has braces!
Ashlyn got a 4 (perfect score) at state and a gold medal for her art. She lettered because of this so she will be sporting a letter jacket sometime in the near future :)
And Ashlyn got confirmed :)
Other news that doesn't involve pictures:
Ashlyn had her appt with the neurologist in Austin and he is pleased with how things are going and she won't have to go see him again until next year as long as everything is still going good. We have her set up for an at home EEG this summer June 21-22. We will take her to Austin to get her hooked up and then go back the next day to get it off. Thank goodness we don't have to stay in the hospital for this one!
And Ashlyn will be going to prom this year with Go (his nickname), a boy she has been going out with for the last couple of months. They mostly just hang out at school and meet at the movies so far since neither of them can drive yet. He also came to Enchanted Rock with us, seems nice so far, so we will see. We have her dress, shoes and accessories ready for the big day and have mani/pedi and hair appts set up. Should be fun! Especially since John and I were asked to volunteer to help be waiter/waitresses and with clean up after. Hmmmm. :)

Camping
This week, we took a short camping trip in the old popup camper to Ingram and did some sightseeing around there. It was nice (pretty cold at night, but we survived!) and we decided we need to try to do that more often, even if just for a night. Here are some pics from the trip: Spring Break 2013.
We also got to visit with the Wolf's this past weekend before going to a get together with my co-workers at a salsa dancing club in Austin. That was pretty interesting and we did attempt to dance, not sure if we did it right though.

Basketball and art and NHS
If you saw this on facebook already, I apologize, just wanted to put it here too so I don't forget.
Colten's team won their last game and he made 2 baskets, he was soooo excited! Here is making the 2nd shot. He's behind a blue player and you can't see him very good, but you can see his hands in the air and the ball about to go in. I'm so glad we can get rid of the orange shirt now :)
And Ashlyn went to VASE art competition in Brady last Saturday and she was one of 7 in that region selected to go to state in the beginning of April. In this competition, they were interviewed and judged on their artwork and the interview. The state contest will be judged only on the art. Wish her luck!
In other news, Ashlyn was accepted into the National Honor Society and they the induction was tonight. It's more involved now than I remember, they had to go to so many UIL meets and have so many volunteer hours and then fill out this application with all of their activities and short answers about their leadership skills. Here are the new inductees and us with Ashlyn:
